Rooms for rest and reflection
As a student at Lund University, you have access to a room for rest and quiet rooms when needed.
Room for rest
A room for rest is available for students at BMC in Lund. You will find it in building I, floor 11 (room I1147C).
- The room is intended for short breaks of less than two hours.
- We recommend that you tell someone you trust when you go there, so that this person if necessary can come and check if you feel unwell or need help.
- If your condition deteriorates suddenly, there is an alarm in the room that triggers a signal in the corridor.
- The room for rest must not be used as a room for reflection.
Room for reflection
Rooms for reflection and contemplation are non-bookable spaces within the University that provide opportunities for meditation, reflection or prayer. The rooms are open to students and staff of the University, regardless of faith or belief.
Quiet room at the Faculty of Medicine is available at BMC in Lund. You will find it in building H, floor 11 (room H1112).
Please note that it is not possible to lock the room and that you may have to share it with others.
To ensure that everyone feels comfortable, the following rules apply to room for reflection:
- It is not allowed to:
- eat in the room – all food consumption is prohibited
- use the room as a meeting or study room
- light candles or incense in the room.
- Leave your shoes at the door in the designated place.
- Turn off your mobile phone (or use silent mode) so as not to disturb others.
- Do not leave personal items, such as books, yoga mats or prayer mats in the room.
