Hatred, threats and violence

Have you been subjected to hatred, threats or violence – or seen it happen? This page is for those who have been through something unpleasant, whether it came from another student or someone else. You are not alone – and you have the right to help. Lund University has zero tolerance for hatred, threats and violence.

In case of emergency or acute danger

In case of emergency, always call SOS Alarm: 112

You can also call the University’s emergency number: +46 46-222 07 00 (the number can also be found on the back of your LU card).

What to do if you have been the victim of a crime

If you have been the victim of something criminal, whether it is by a student, employee or anyone else, it is important that you act:

  1. In case of emergency - call 112 (see box above)
  2. Always report to the police.
Call 114 14 or go to a police station. Only the police can investigate crimes.
  3. Report the incident in the university's IA system.
This is an internal system where you can tell what has happened. Your report goes to the teacher responsible for your work environment at the faculty. It's not the same as a police report – you need to do both.
Report a case in the IA system
  4. Talk to someone.
It's common to feel scared, angry, or confused after an unpleasant event. You have the right to support and help – talk to someone you trust, such as a teacher or the Student Health Service.

  5. What happens next?
The university is conducting an investigation and seeing if anything needs to change to increase security.
