Resources and support for students

The Academic Support Centre

The Academic Support Centre is there to help you if, for example, you want to improve your study technique, enhance your public speaking skills or become better at writing academic texts.

Study Group

Do you find it difficult to start studying on your own? Bring what you are currently working on and meet up with other students in the same situation.

At Study Group, a workplace and study structure are provided, and Study Counsellors and the Psychological Counsellor from the Faculty of Medicine are available to ask for advice on study techniques and stress management.

Each session begins with an introduction to the Pomodoro study method. Following this, each student sets up their own goal for the session. Then we work alongside one another in 15 minute intervals with 5-15 minute long breaks between.

Time: Thursdays at 14.30-16.30
Place: Due to current Covid restrictions, the Study Group sessions are held online via Zoom.
To participate, send an email to: elin [dot] linderberg [at] med [dot] lu [dot] se (elin[dot]linderberg[at]med[dot]lu[dot]se)

Learning support and disabilities

If you have a disability, for example dyslexia, a visual impairment or ADHD, we can provide you with support during your studies. You can apply for the form of learning support that is more appropriate for you.

Reading and writing support

If you make reading mistakes often, read slowly or experience difficulty concentrating when reading, it may be very helpful to listen to your course literature instead. Contact Krister Aronsson for a meeting,

The TorTalk speech synthesis programme, and the spelling programmes StavaRex and SpellRight are available for all students on the faculty's student computers.
