Master’s programme in Medical Science
When can I study abroad?
Degree project
If your degree project focuses on an international issue, the whole world is your field! In this case, you might be interested in collecting data for your project abroad.
There are many ways to find a suitable topic for your degree project.
- Talk to teaching and research staff at your department – many of them have good contacts with universities, healthcare institutions and organisations abroad.
- Contact a Swedish organisation that has offices abroad.
- Contact the International Office at the Faculty of Medicine.
Exchange studies outside your study programme at the Faculty of Medicine
As a student at the Faculty of Medicine, you have the opportunity to study courses abroad, outside of your study programme, for one to two semesters. At the host university you cannot apply for courses or for clinical training/work placements. This means that you will need to take an approved leave from your study programme, and that you will not be able to transfer any credits you receive from your exchange studies.
University of California
Applications are processed centrally at the University of California Study Center at Lund University – not by the Faculty of Medicine. You must take an approved leave from your study programme as you will not be able to apply for clinical placements or courses within your study programme at the University of California. Please note that the application deadlines at the UC Study Center differ from those at the Faculty of Medicine.
